Throughout the week of September 4, the members of the Jenkintown Fire Department were able to access a commercial property in the borough as it readies for demolition. These "acquired structure" scenarios allow our members more realistic training scenarios as we are able to practice techniques that cause damage to property, that we typically reserve for true emergencies. Members spent three consecutive, unseasonably warm nights practicing search & rescue, forcible entry, ventilation, and sprinkler systems. The Pioneer Fire Company thanks property management and their contractors for granting us access as this allows us the ability to hone our skills. In addition, we'd like to also thank our many mutual aid partners for joining us throughout the week to train side by side.
