| On Tuesday, June 6 members of the Pioneer Fire Company assisted with the annual Jenkintown Sunset 5K. Over 500 participants hit the ground running around 7:00 PM for a nice run throughout the streets of Jenkintown, including three members of the fire company who demonstrated their physical fitness and commitment to the community by running the race in their firefighting turnout gear. These dedicated members were Justin Siegal, Chuck Ward, and Tiffany Kitner.
Multiple members of the Pioneer Fire Company Fire Police unit were on hand to assist with traffic control during the event, led by Fire Police Captain Cline and Fire Police Lieutenant North.
In addition, a duty crew consisting of a driver, two officers, and four firefighters were on hand staffing the station to allow for a timely response to any incident in the borough throughout the event.
Congratulations to our three members for completing the race as well as to all the runners and walkers on another great year of this event! |
