| In the month of June, members of the Jenkintown Fire Department, including our firefighters from Pioneer performed three weeks of Vent, Enter, Isolate, and Search training on our Thursday night drills. This included classroom instruction and practical evolutions in a simulated residential bedroom with a life-sized, weighted manikin.
Vent-Enter-Isolate-Search (VEIS) is a deliberate tactic for the immediate rescue of a fire victim. This tactic puts us in the immediate area of victims, or potential victim locations and allows for a quicker removal.
On the final night of this drill our members were surprised to see a drone monitoring and photographing the training evolutions, giving a different view of our activities. Special thanks to Firefighter Justin Siegal for the excellent photos. |
